About Me

My name is Melissa, and I’m a 30 something former e-commerce fashion, beauty, and mobile accessories buyer gone "Life" stylist.

Occasionally silly, always passionate, thrifty and relentless (when I want something), left-handed and spunky. Independent.
Initially looking to start a blog as a way to organize the recommendations that I was giving my friends, once JeNeSeQua was born I was inspired. I quit my cushy corporate job and never looked back.  Now the blog has evolved into an outlet for me to express my fondness for all things french, living life to the fullest, and trying to inspire my readers to dream (big or small)!

The city-girl in me likes: junking/thrifting, shopping, traveling, cooking/entertaining, eating healthfully, but always saving room for the splurge, decorating, reading (books, blogs, magazines) and enjoys the finer things in life.
The country girl in me likes: white-water rafting, kayaking, biking, hiking, throwing myself down mountain tops (repel and canyon) and currently took up fly-fishing (influenced by my sweets).
Born in the corn-fields of Illinois, raised in the outdoors of Idaho, I currently live in Seattle and am nesting in my home - created with my sweetie and our 5 year old Pekashu, Jackie O.
What is the definition of JeNeSeQua?
Meaning "I dont know what..." in French. Misspelled intentionally, to sound phonetically. Indescribable. Intangible. Elusive. Can't put your finger on it.
My goal is the deliver daily doses of je ne sai quois - sharing what I am passionate about: antiquing & decor, eating and drinking, gardening & the outdoors, style - be it fashion or beauty, wandering around the world, pets, people who inspire me and last but not least..ALL THINGS FRENCH!
