DIY - Terrariums

I have been sitting on a vintage Italian mason-like jar for about a  year and had many ideas of what to do with it - storing scarfs, soaps, lemonade, and alast the brightest idea - making a terrarium!

The warm weather that welcomes spring was NOT arriving, however a sunny day, family visiting and garden rehab got me on my way to home depot to purchase staple items to bring my terrarium to life: moss, plants, soil.

This was probably one of the easiest projects to embark on - and most rewarding. It took me 10 minutes, and a little touching up the dirt inside my jar, and VOILA! I created a beautiful living space inside a vintage jar.

Check out a favorite blog of mine to get ideas on creating a terrarium of your own. You can do the home depot visit like myself:

Home Depot Terrarium Supplies (plants, moss, potting soil)

Or go for a walk around your block and find moss, plants, and flowers for free!

Check out Remodelista and Design Sponge for additional ideas on how to start your own terrarium.  You can also purchase this fabulous book, The New Terrarium on Amazon.com
